Split/Cross – Rise Of Discontent – Album Review

Hardcore / Crust Punk / Sludge / Doom / NOISE!

Damn, the world is an angry place right now. Pissed off at every conceivable aspect of society’s miserable feelings, it’s time to take a stand, make some (brutal) noise and rise above this current state of discontent. And, that’s where South Central PA’s Split/Cross come in!

Split/Cross may be ‘new’ but they’re actually veterans of the scene, with the trio previously going by the monikers of The Human Race Is Filth and the now defunct Police State.

Perhaps inevitably, we’re talking three guys who pummel you senseless with a grinding mix of hardcore, crust punk,  doom and sludge metal. A deluge of aggression awaits those brave enough to counteract injustice with actions and fans of Napalm Death, Nails, Sore Throat, Winter, Discharge, Primitive Man and Insect Warfare will surely ‘get’ where Split/Cross are coming from!

Finesse can fuck off, Split/Cross are far too busy raising hell through a tried and tested medium of protest and the results are genuinely hard to ignore. No gimmicks. No bullshit. Just noise. 7/10

Split/Cross’ Rise of Discontent was self-released on 31st January 2019…..head over to bandcamp and check it out!
