A little death/doom for your dollar often goes a long while (normally because the songs are so ridiculously long) and Poland’s Rites Of Death are no exception. Not because they stretch out their compositions to patience-testing length but because they offer plenty of bang for your buck!

Hexing Graves may be their debut EP but these guys have credentials – they previously travelled under the name Cemetery Whore – and, as individual band members, have released countless demo under different pseudonyms. This results in a strong sense of identity reflected on Hexing Graves, a confidence in delivering blistering death/doom that recalls the speedier moments of Autopsy while channeling their own path.

A good start indeed! 7/10
