Costa Rican death-dealers Corpse Garden return with the follow up to 2015’s Entheogen and it finds their unconventional death metal unravelling further, producing unnerving vignettes of almost abstract – yet still ultimately punishing – sojourns into out-and-out brutality.

It’s tough to surface with an original sound in todays crowded waters but Corpse Garden manage to offer something different. With each squall of eerie noise and blasts of intense death metal, they offer that almost indescribable ‘special something’ that manages to sound fresh while still dragging you down to wallow in the filth. 8/10
