12 Of The Funniest Songs In Metal!
Amusing? Frickin' hilarious more like!
Lawnmower Deth – Satan’s Trampoline
Taken from the album Ooh Crikey It’s…Lawnmower Deth (1990)
If ever a band deserves the accolade of Kings of Comedy Metal then surely that honour goes to the UK’s Lawnmower Deth. A parody of the then world-conquering Thrash scene, Lawnmower Deth took a genre entrenched in machismo and ‘oh so serious’ subject matter and took the living piss out of it, quite brilliantly.
Admittedly, you’d expect comedy from a comedy Metal band but we’d be remiss not to include them and their highly amusing Thrash ditty, “Satan’s Trampoline“. The irony of Satan growling intimidatingly as he sets up his hellish trampoline of eternal punishment is pretty damn amusing; it also helps that the song is a little ripper, thrashy, punky and groovy as f*ck!
All together now! “How many times can you bounce up and down, on Satan’s big old trampoline? I do not know but I’ll let you have a go, on Satan’s big old trampoliiiiinnnnneaaaarrrgggghhhhhh”
Black Sachbak – Haircut I Never Got
Taken from the album No Pay No Gain (2013)
Israeli Thrash kings Black Sachbak recently came to our attention and “Haircut I Never Got” is a Crossover Thrash whirlwind of unintelligible lyrics, rather fetching pink vests (see the video) and 4 hairy Thrash dudes shouting “Haircut I Never Got” at each other; in other words, it’s bloody brilliant and guaranteed to put a massive smile on that ugly mug of yours!
Even Black Sachbak’s appropriation of Anthrax’s ‘Wardance’ refrain seems appealingly innocent, a nod to the old-school from a band who don’t take themselves too seriously but sure do love to THRASH!
Remember, don’t cut that hair!!!
You forgot psychostick! dogs like socks or blue screen
Damn! Good Call Phillip!
AC’s Picnic Of Love is from the album Picnic Of Love, not It Just Gets Worse… and the whole album is hilarious!
Nice spot Ben! We were originally going to go with a choice title from ‘It Just Gets Worse’ and forgot to change it when we opted for ‘Picnic Of Love’ instead…..and you’re right, the whole of ‘Picnic Of Love’ is frickin’ hilarious! \m/
I really really love Hello kitty from woods of trees. They are so good!!!!
Just watched the video….brilliant!!!
May I respectfully draw your attention to Jaldaboath’s “Bash The Bishop”, “Roland The Farter” and “Dex The Whispering Dwarf”? While I’m here, there’s also Conquest Of Steel’s “Fisting In The Name Of Metal”.
You may Carl, and I thank you for it.
Spazztic Blurr came to mind when I read the title of the article. Maybe their song “Mexacalli,” all about eating fast food? Then the Macabre Minstrels covering “Found a Peanut”…and of course Gwar for a little “Slaughterama”!
