Super Goliath – Destroyer, Destroy, Destroyed – Album Review

Eardrums will be destroyed!

Source // Super Goliath

Take a drum kit, a guitar, 3 guitar amps and 2 bass amps and make a sludgy, dirge-ridden, sloth-like, beastly racket!

That’s the name of the game for Super Goliath, a two-piece neanderthal riff monster that unleash wave after wave of churning riffs primed to crush all in their path. Vocals are apparently surplus to requirement (while earplugs are most definitely mandatory) as the repetitive tsunami of feedback drenched noise repeatedly hits that part of your guts that triggers involuntary, full-body, retching. We hasten to add that we’re still not entirely sure if that makes the experience of listening to Destroyer, Destroy, Destroyed a pleasant one!

Everything from funeral doom to Crowbar-esque sludge metal grooves impact with almost intolerable force and a heady, trippy, event awaits those brave enough to give their earholes an almighty thwacking.

36 minutes of loud fuckin’ noise then….from Bristol. 7/10
