10. Bad Magic (2015)
Released in the midst of well documented health problems, Motörhead’s most recent studio album was – surprise, surprise – another kick ass slab of rock ‘n’ roll that showed few signs of a band about to slow down in any way shape or form.
Bad Magic was a snarling beast of an album and the song titles tell you all you need to know. “Victory or Die”, “Thunder & Lightning” and “Electricity” are all righteous slabs of furious rock delivered with the zeal and gusto of men half their age. The album only slowed down for “Till The End”, which had Lemmy looking back wistfully on days gone by.
In fact, the only weak moment on Bad Magic was the cover of “Sympathy For The Devil”, which speaks volumes for the quality of the original tracks on offer.
A fine way to end Motörhead’s recording career and proof that as a band they were still at the peak of their powers, even at the end.
