Trivium are the opinion dividing, genre-jumpers we referred to in our intro and their seismic shift from Metalcore (Ascendancy) to Thrash (The Crusade) to Nu Metal (Vengeance Falls) to Power Metal/Trad Metal aping Metal behemoths on Silence In The Snow has already resulted in mass consternation amongst the Metal fraternity.

Regardless, this is one album you’d be a fool not to check out. From Matt Heafy’s massive vocal improvement – the man can sing big – to the enormous Maiden and Priest-esque riffs, Trivium are thinking big….and so should we.

Approach Trivium’s 7th album with cynicism if you must but we believe a simple fact remains.
