The Three Tremors – The Three Tremors – Album Review

Three of Earth’s mightiest voices harnessed as one.....

The Three Tremors is somewhat of a vanity project / vocalist super-group (delete where applicable) helmed by the none-too-shabby Tim “Ripper” Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-Iced Earth), Harry “The Tyrant” Conklin (Jag Panzer, Satan’s Host) and Sean Peck (Cage, Denner/Sherman).

As expected, this is a bombastic, border-line frenzied (that could read hysterical, depending on how much you enjoy this kind of histrionic music) power metal affair, and The Three Tremors waste little time in attempting to shake the very ground you stand on with the awesome power of HEAVY FUCKIN’ METAL!

Considering those involved, you won’t be surprised to learn that the commitment is apparent, the endeavour is apparent and the talent is most certainly burgeoning but, taken as a whole, The Three Tremors turns out to be no more than a solid, if rather surprisingly unspectacular, affair.

With The Three Tremors attempting to out-scream each other at every turn – something which might sound great on paper but is irksome in reality – the problem is a lack of diversity and that goes for the music too. The songs are mechanical and rudimentary at best, and these voices are literally screaming for something better to sing over!

No one involved has done anything wrong per se, it’s just lacking the killer tracks required to lift it out of the sphere of curiosity and into the realms of ‘must-hear’.

Where The Three Tremors are concerned, we were hoping for an earthquake but we’ve had to make do with a mild quiver! 6/10
