GraVil – Decommissioned – Single Review
London metal crew GraVil have returned and they’re armed with a new single!
“Decommissioned”- primed for release prior to their sophomore album, No More Forgiveness, lands on 5th May – is a feral mix of hardcore screams, titanic grooves and melodic death metal’s penchant for atmospheric synths.
Featuring a spoken word opening that feels like a Slipknot intro if ever we’ve heard one ,”Decommissioned” is plenty pissed and offers a crushing, bruising insight into the pleasures that No More Forgiveness will surely deliver.
Aiming spite and spit at the hypocrites that have so obviously burned GraVil in recent years, this furious little ditty showcases a band for whom ‘tight’ would be an understatement, as pummelling rhythms and an overall dazzling display of technical proficiency is wrapped around a good old fashioned metal song…..one designed to snap necks clean in half!
Drawing towering strength from unparalleled negativity, “Decommissioned” proves that GraVil are in fine fettle and ready to make 2017 their own. 8/10
