Draghkar – World Unravelled – EP Review

A seriously rough and ready excursion into filth-encrusted, hades-dwelling death metal, California’s Draghkar are blatantly just finding their feet but there’s some substance here that could lead to something special in the future.

As it stands though, many will find this a little too neanderthal and too base to pique their interest and with just the 3 tracks on World Unravelled to assess, it’s slim pickings when it comes to evaluation. Still, the guitars are suitably ‘buzzy’ and Brandon Wold’s vocals are suitably demonic (although virtually unintelligible) and Draghkar do throw enough groove into the mix to keep attention focused on them throughout.

It’s early days but we’ll keep an eye and an ear on these guys. 5/10
