Satyricon: Live At The Opera

Source // operaen.no

Black/Extreme Metal icon’s Satyricon are set to release a DVD of their elaborate performance backed by the Norwegian National Opera.

This is not the first time Heavy Metal and the Arts have combined; cast your mind back to Metallica’s collaboration with The San Francisco Symphony on their S&M live album and Entombed’s 2002 performance at the Royal Opera Hall in Stockholm, where the band were accompanied by 30 dancers of the Swedish Royal Ballet, an obscure translation of the band’s music in physical form.

To transcend boundaries and challenge traditions is the core of Heavy Metal and Rock-orientated Black Metal and Opera is one hell of a combination.

Consider us intrigued!

About Chris Jennings (1987 Articles)
I love metal. Always have. Always will. As editor of Worship Metal - a site dedicated to being as positive about metal and its myriad of sub-genres as possible - my aim is to 'worship' metal through honest reviews, current news and a wide variety of features; offering the same exposure to underground bands as we do to mainstream/well known acts. Our mantra; the bands are partners and we exist to serve the bands \m/
