Powerplay Magazine Sponsors Fire & Forge Festival & Final Line-Up Is Announced!

Raising money for Diabetes Research

Powerplay Rock & Metal Magazine have agreed to become sponsors of this years Fire & Forge Festival! Over the course of its 200 (so far!) issues, Powerplay has established itself as one of the UK’s leading rock authorities, widely respected and with a large, loyal readership. Many of the bands performing at Fire & Forge 2017 have been featured in Powerplay which makes them the perfect sponsor for the festival.

The festival organisers have now released the final event poster, as illustrated below, with the completed line-up and showing the day splits. Blaze Bayley will be headlining on Friday October 6th with The Dirty Youth doing the honours on Saturday October 7th. Blaze’s appearance at Fire & Forge will be the final, climactic date of his Endure And Survive World Tour, so the last chance to see a set list which combines classics from his past career with numbers from the new album. Blaze will also be doing a meet and greet session at the festival, so bring along your Blaze, Wolfsbane and Iron Maiden items for signing!

The rest of the talent packed line-up includes underground heroes like Divine Chaos, Eradikator, Fury, Lifer, Gehtika and a battalion of others. In total no fewer than thirty two top UK rock and metal acts will be gracing the stage of the Trowbridge Civic Centre – and all in the name of charity.

Fire And Forge began life in 2012 under the banner of Rock Diabetes, before being rebranded in 2015 and continues to give its support to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. The JDRF gives a voice to people with type 1 Diabetes and campaigns for increased focus on and funding for, research to find the cure.

There will also be a very special guest of honour at Fire & Forge 2017 – Steve Grimmett of Grim Reaper. Steve recently lost his leg due to diabetes related problems and has shown incredible bravery in recovery. He will be demonstrating his amazing courage once more by taking to the stage at Fire & Forge to perform a song with one of the bands.

So this October, support the British rock and metal scene, support underground music, support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and enjoy one of the best small festivals in the country.

I love metal. Always have. Always will. As editor of Worship Metal - a site dedicated to being as positive about metal and its myriad of sub-genres as possible - my aim is to 'worship' metal through honest reviews, current news and a wide variety of features; offering the same exposure to underground bands as we do to mainstream/well known acts.
