Aftermath – FFF – Single Review

There's so much you don't know......

Chicago’s cult progressive thrash favourites Aftermath have another new song/lyric video in the bag and as opposed to the quick-fire, snarling crossover thrash colossus that was “Smash Reset Control”, “FFF” (False Flag Flying) is more of an Eyes Of Tomorrow (1991) moment, with its politically/socially charged crossover thrash meeting a progressive thrash framework head-on!

There’s still moments of speed and a shit-ton of aggression but “FFF” has frontman Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis spitting out frenzied diatribes at a more considered pace and with an unnerving dark ambience pervading throughout.

As expected, Aftermath have plenty to say about society ills and this  blast of commentary and carnage is another eye-opening kick to the teeth. Their forthcoming 11 track concept album is starting to reveal itself – with politics and corruption at the forefront – and we, for one, are looking forward to devouring the whole damn thing! 7/10

“FFF” is taken from Aftermath’s forthcoming album There Is Something Wrong.
