Wildfire Festival Announces Huge Friday Headliner For 2016!
Friday's red-hot headliner is one devil you can seriously dig!
Wildfire Festival – Scotland’s only 3 day rock and metal festival – returns in 2016 to celebrate its 5th anniversary. The now well established and highly acclaimed event returns to the stunning grounds of Wiston Lodge on 24-26 June and will play host to over 60 acts over 3 stages.
With a raft of announcements to make, it’s Friday nights confirmed headline act that should cause the most ripples as Wildfire Festival have landed themselves one of the finest voices in Metal….
Grammy Nominated Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Beyond Fear, Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Charred Walls of the Damned) is flying in for an exclusive, one-off, UK performance! and Festival Director Dave Ritchie had this to say regarding ‘The Ripper’s’ special appearance:
“This is a bit of a coup for us in 2016 as Tim – who is very passionate about supporting grass roots events – will fly in from the US, to perform tracks from Judas Priest’s Live In London album and die hard fans will get to hear tracks from both Demolition and Jugulator!
Also added to the bill are highly acclaimed hard rockers Colour Of Noise, the rock/metal hybrid that is Danny Lambert’s (ex-Terrorvision) Hellbound Hearts, the noise of metalcore monsters RSJ, Irish rockers Screaming Eagles and Maverick, power metallers Avenford, Stone Broken (recent winners at H2H), Death/Thrash metal act All Consumed and the outstanding Chasing Dragons.
Maintaining a strong affiliation with the classic bands of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, 2016 also sees Soldier being joined by new announcements The Deep and Spartan Warrior; with the promise of more NWOBHM acts to come!
With minds very much focused on Wildfire’s 5th anniversary, the festival is also inviting back a few old friends. 2016 will see the welcome return of groove metallers Mad Hatter 2.0 and Belfast heavy metal act Sinocence; both bands having contributed incredibly well received sets over the last 4 years.
All in all, Wildfire 2016 is looking to eclipse all previous incarnations so keep an eye out for further announcements over the coming months.
Here’s Wildfire 2016’s line up to date:
All Consumed, Apriori, Avenford, Chasing Dragons, Colour of Noise, Halo Tora, Hellbound Hearts, Mad Hatter 2.0, Maverick, RSJ, Screaming Eagles, Serpentine, Sinocence, Sky Valley Mistress, Soldier, Spartan Warrior, Stone Broken, The Deep, Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens and Winter Storm.
