Fates Warning To Re-Release A Pleasant Shade Of Gray
As pleasant the second time around?
Fates Warning are set to re-release arguably their most polarising album in the shape of a 3 CD/DVD deluxe reissue of 1997’s A Pleasant Shade Of Gray!
Due for release on 2nd October via Metal Blade Records this ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ collection will feature the original album, a live version of the album recorded during the band’s 1998 European tour and demos from the pre-production and writing sessions. The DVD consists of two live performances including a restored version of the original 1998 A Pleasant Shade Of Grey video release and a complete performance from The Whisky in Hollywood, circa 1999.
Proving particularly divisive on release, Fates Warning’s most ambitious album has grown in stature over the years, it’s 12 chapters melding traditional Prog, Metal, Industrial and Psychedelia into a unique blend that could only come from this innovative band.
This set sounds pretty definitive and any fans of one of Fates Warning’s most challenging Progressive works should snap this up!
