Leaving a band as beloved and respected as Down could be considered a brave move but when your ‘other band’ is Crowbar, the risk is minimal. Long revered as Godfather’s of Sludge, Crowbar have been relatively quiet over the last decade but that is all about to change.

Kirk Windstein has put his entire focus back into Crowbar and it shows. Symmetry In Black is Crowbar’s most complete album since 1993’s self-titled release and it showcases their entire oeuvre.

“Walk With Knowledge Wisely” features a crushing riff that’ll snap your neck in two while “Amaranthine” may be the most hauntingly melodic song the band have ever penned.

The album highlight though is “Symbolic Suicide”.  This is prime Crowbar, the kind of song you demand from them and the kind of song they deliver on every album. If “Cemetery Angels” rocked your Heavy Metal socks off , this’ll put holes in ’em.

Crowbar are back and revitalised, what comes next could be a game-changer!
