Victimized – Sonic Violence – Album Review

Sonic Violence may not be as ferocious an attack on the ol’ ear-holes as its title and cover art suggests but Columbia’s Victimized still riff up a relatively frenzied thrash storm on this, their 3rd full length album.

Streamlined and systematic in its approach, Sonic Violence regales us thrash happy bastards with a barrage of high-paced stormers that, lack of variety aside, reek of the old-school.

With the chugging intensity of “Eternal Rest” providing the album’s sweet spot it’s to Victimized‘s detriment that they fail to offer any kind of variation in pace….but then this is thrash we’re talkin’ about and THRASH, Victimized most certainly do!

While Sonic Violence can hardly be described as essential…. it’s also not a bad way to spend 42 mins of your precious time. 6/10

Victimized‘s Sonic Violence was released independently on January 3rd, 2023.
