AESMÓÐIR – DISEASE//REBIRTH – Demo EP Review
An abrasive mix of death metal, sludge, black metal and power-violence, AESMÓÐIR do not fuck about on their debut demo EP, Disease/Rebirth.
This two-man musical DIY project from Gävle, Sweden revels in the cancerous carnage they conjure and their abrasive noise sounds suitably hideous in all its brutal lo-fi glory.
The demo quality of this offering ensures that ears are suitably ravaged – regardless of the fact that Disease/Rebirth is coarse and caustic by its very nature – but aural irritability aside, there’s enough full-bore nihilism on display here to warrant further listen should AESMÓÐIR fund further ventures.
Approach with caution…..which was probably AESMÓÐIR’s intention all along! 5/10
