Trivium, Whitesnake, Slipknot, Lacuna Coil And More Cancel Shows Amid the Spread Of Coronavirus!

The threat is real......

The threat of coronavirus is global and fear of the virus is causing more and more bands to cancel or postpone their upcoming tours or scheduled shows.

TRIVIUM have postponed their previously announced dates in Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia amid the spread of coronavirus.

Earlier tonight, the band released the following statement via social media:

Due to circumstances outside of our control we have been forced to postpone all of our tour dates in march in Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. We also will not be making a scheduled press stop in Europe at this time. We hope to re-schedule these dates very soon. Thanks, and stay safe.”

TRIVIUM will release their ninth album, What The Dead Men Say, on April 24 via Roadrunner Records. The LP will be the follow-up to The Sin And The Sentence, which came out in October 2017. That effort marked the band’s first release with drummer Alex Bent, who joined TRIVIUM in 2016.

WHITESNAKE have also postponed their previously announced Japanese tour “due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus.”

Earlier tonight, the band released the following statement via social media:

We regret to announce that WHITESNAKE‘s Japan Tour which had been scheduled for March has been unavoidably postponed due to the ongoing threat of the Coronavirus. Currently, we are working on rescheduling the dates. Your purchased tickets for the original dates will be valid for the rescheduled dates. Please ensure you keep your tickets safe. For those customers who wish to receive a refund, we will announce details of the refund process once we announce the rescheduled dates. We deeply apologize to all parties concerned especially those customers who bought tickets and have been looking forward to the WHITESNAKE shows.

SLIPKNOT have postponed their previously announced tour of Asia, including the band’s two-day Knotfest Japan festival, because of “global health concerns” amid the spread of coronavirus.

Earlier tonight, SLIPKNOT released the following statement via social media:

“In light of global health concerns, SLIPKNOT have decided to postpone their upcoming Asian tour, including Knotfest Japan. While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and well-being of the band’s fans always comes first. Furthermore in this case, the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally effected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made. SLIPKNOT and Knotfest will both return to Asia very soon. And at such time that everyone can be ensured of the best experience possible.”

SONS OF APOLLO have postponed the remaining dates on their current European tour due to mounting concerns.

The band, which features former DREAM THEATER members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-GUNS N’ ROSES), Billy Sheehan (THE WINERY DOGS, MR. BIG, DAVID LEE ROTH) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-JOURNEY, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN’S RISING FORCE), announced the show cancelations in a social media post earlier today.

The group wrote: SONS OF APOLLO are absolutely devastated to announce that we have no choice but to stop our currently ongoing tour in Europe, Russia and Ukraine and postpone the remaining concerts. The Corona Virus epidemic has escalated to a point where governments have decided to shut down venues, restrict events, limit flight destinations, with no certainty for us and our promoting partners and that our shows can be guaranteed to happen.”

Italian heavy metallers LACUNA COIL have canceled their previously scheduled shows in Australia and Southeast Asia alsocdue to mounting concerns re. coronavirus.

The band announced the cancelation in a social media post earlier today. They wrote:

“ATTENTION SOUTH EAST ASIA‼️ We regret to inform our beloved fans of South East Asia that due to circumstances beyond our control we must cancel our upcoming shows in Dubai, Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Jakarta. Our home region of Lombardia, Italy, is in the midst of a Coronavirus outbreak. While cancelling is heartbreaking for us, everyone’s health and safety must come first and this includes our fans. We’re confident this emergency will soon be contained and we can get back on the road to you. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe. Ticket refunds are available for headline shows at points of purchase.
