Is The Classic Chimaira Line Up Back Together?

The Chimaira raises its head once again!

Have new wave of American heavy metal heroes Chimaira reformed?

It certainly looks that way after frontman Mark Hunter took to Facebook to announce a Christmas show featuring the classic line up of Mark Hunter (vocals), Rob Arnold (Guitars), Andols Herrick (Drums), Matt DeVries (Guitars), Jim Lamarca (Bass) & Chris Spicuzza (Electronics, Keyboards).

This was the line up that recorded the monumentally successful The Impossibility Of Reason back in 2003, a record that went on to solidify the new wave of American heavy metal / metalcore (call it what you will) as a global force and Chimaira were at the forefront of the movement. This core line-up would go on to deliver two crushing releases in the formidable shape of Resurrection (2007) and The Infection (2009) before disbanding, with only Mark Hunter keeping the band alive until an indefinite hiatus was called in 2014.

That is until now. While this may be a one-off reunion many will hope that this is just the start of a journey that will se Chimaira reunited permanently and recording and touring once again.

It’s worth noting that Andols Herrick has had severe health problems to deal with so hopefully this announcement is a sign that he is on the road to recovery.

In keeping with Chimaira’s Christmas Party tradition, the ‘one-off’ show announced is as follows….

December 30th 2017 – Cleveland Ohio – Agora Theatre
