Worship Metal’s 10 Greatest Albums Of 2018!

The best of 2018!

5. Conjurer – Mire

Country: UK
Genre: Sludge Metal / Doom Metal
Label: Holy Roar Records
Release date: 23rd February 2018

A jaw-dropping amalgamation of sludge, death, black, doom and progressive metal awaited those who embraced the full length debut album from the UK’s new favourite sons, the almighty Conjurer!

As sonically murky as its title suggests, Mire was at once a suffocating beast built upon metal’s heaviest facets but with a subtle beauty toiling away beneath its crusty, almost impenetrable surface.

Debuts rarely sound this ‘complete’ and yet somehow, Conjurer took the best bits of Mastodon, Gojira, Enslaved and Neurosis and fashioned something coherent, something new, something thrilling and something which labelled these new boys as the UK’s brightest (yet bleakest) hopes!

Get bogged down in its genius here.

I love metal. Always have. Always will. As editor of Worship Metal - a site dedicated to being as positive about metal and its myriad of sub-genres as possible - my aim is to 'worship' metal through honest reviews, current news and a wide variety of features; offering the same exposure to underground bands as we do to mainstream/well known acts. Our mantra; the bands are partners and we exist to serve the bands \m/
