No Remorse Records have recently unearthed some true treasures from the vaults of 80’s heavy metal and are giving them long overdue CD releases! Collectors of the more obscure side of the NWOBHM – and 80’s heavy metal in general – will be practically giddy that these long out-of-print obscurities are seeing the light of day (some for the first time ever on CD).

From the UK to France and on to Spain, 80’s heavy metal is well represented by these overdue re-releases!

Chateaux – Chained And Desperate / Fire Power / Highly Strung

Chateaux were an iconic NWOBHM band who originally released Chained And Desperate in 1983. Featuring the mighty lungs of Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper/Onslaught) on vocals this underrated powerhouse of an album came adorned with a gritty tone and is an undisputed classic of the genre; achieving more integrity with one album than many of their peers managed over entire careers.

The albums Fire Power (1984) and Highly Strung (1985) quickly followed – this time without Steve Grimmett who had switched back to fronting Grim Reaper – and while diminishing returns were the order of the day (and an ill-advised softening of sound), there’s still much to love about these 2 NWOBHM gems.

All three albums were reissued on August 31, 2016 by No Remorse Records with each one limited to 500 copies and these re-releases are guaranteed to put a smile on the face of hardened NWOBHM fanatics!

Dark Star – Real To Reel

Real To Reel was the second album from melodic NWOBHM nearly-men Dark Star (renowned for the song “Lady Of Mars”, included on the Metal for Muthas Vol. 2 compilation).

Packed with solid, no-thrills soft-rock anthems, Real To Reel showcases the more laid-back, mid-paced and generally radio-friendly side of British heavy metal at the time; often recalling the glam of the 1970’s.

With an almighty 6 year gap between this sophomore effort and their semi-cult debut, Real To Reel saw an original release back in 1987 and on vinyl only. Available for the first time on CD via No Remorse Records – and also limited to 500 copies – this long unavailable late entry in the annals of NWOBHM is finally available.

The release date is scheduled for September 27, 2016.
