These guys aren’t getting any younger and it’s questionable the remaining 8 would be able to find a suitable replacement and have the energy to carry on if Taylor departed?

With no Paul Grey, no Joey Jordison and no Corey Taylor, the DNA of Slipknot would be irrevocably altered and could prove too much for the remaining members, perhaps prompting a mass exodus in the process.

It seems natural that this would spell the beginning of the end for one of the greatest metal bands of the last two decades if Corey Taylor’s recent musings proved true. Perhaps we should take his recent remarks with a pinch of salt, perhaps the poor guy just needs a well-earned break from fronting the frequently out of control juggernaut that is Slipknot?

Whatever happens, Slipknot fans will be watching and listening carefully to Corey Taylor and Slipknot’s every move as the writing could be on the wall for one of metal’s most revered acts.
