5 Albums You Simply Can’t Ignore In April 2016!
4. The Wounded Kings – Visions In Bone
Out on April 25th, The Wounded Kings return with Visions In Bone; album number 5 from these doom metal merchants from the South West of England.
Sinister and wistful, The Wounded Kings have always courted funeral doom’s pace and sense of emptiness but without fully incorporating its often impenetrable misery and despair. Previous material has seen pastoral shades colliding with pitch black night and while there is a distinctly British sorrow that aches and throbs through The Wounded Kings recorded output their experience has often bordered on a spiritual affair. One thing is for sure, Visions In Bone will be a journey into unsettling territory which will challenge those looking for some depth in their doom.
Some may balk at George Birch returning to vocal duty (the wicce warblings of Sharie Neyland were understandably much beloved) but this band have much to offer and Visions In Bone will be mandatory for doom lovers.
